Visit Kankai Mai Jhapa

Jhapa is one of the most ethnically diverse district in Nepal, home of more than 110 ethnic groups some of them are Bhramins, chhetris, Rajbhansi,sataar, etc. Most of the people in this district are Hindus who are fully devoted to their gods and goddess. About Kankai Dham

Kankai Dham is one of the holiest site not only in Jhapa but also of whole Nepal. This site is located in the bank of Kankai Mai river. Hindus devotees from around the world visits this temple to seek blessing. It is believed that the wish of those devotees who seek blessing from goddess is fulfilled. Kankai river is one of the holiest river over here in Nepal. This river is one of the tributaries of Ganga river.

It is located in Kankai Municipality of Jhapa district. Or else it will take you around 10 to 15 minutes to reach this Dham from the Jhapa's biggest city Birtamode by vehicles.

Sunmaai Jhapa Nepal


Jhapa is a district which is situated in Province No. 1, it lies within the border of India, Bihar in the south and Bengal in the east. Jhapa district lies within the Terai belt of Nepal and also Jhapa has the lowest elevation point of Nepal which is 58 meter above sea level known as Kachan kabal. Lying in the terai belt means this district enjoys a hot summer. Temperature during summer time reaches up to 40 degree celsius. So to avoid hot summer people of this district visits neighboring district Ilam.This place is starting point for tourist attraction, with a few hour ride to the north area you can see a magnificent view of Himalayas

But there is a place in Jhapa district known as suunmaai you can visit to get rid of hot summer. This place is barely known by any people in this district because of no promotion. So if you are in Jhapa during hot days and wants some fresh air and cold water you can visit Suunmaai.

About Suunmaai

Suunmaai lying in the border between Jhapa and Ilam is one of the coolest place in Jhapa district. It is around 22 to 25 kilometer far from Bhadrapur airport, 30 minute bike ride from Chandragadhi will lead you to this destination. The view of hills and crossing through one of the Nepal's biggest tea field during the ride is so mesmerizing. Also the view from the place known as suicide point in Suunmaai area is so thrilling. 

Reaching There

You can easily reach in here through vehicles. Ride from Suunmaai chowk to river is quite challenging, road from chowk to river is quite stiff. Two wheeled vehicles may slip if there is continuous rain in this area. If you are a kind of trekking person than you can walk from Suunmai chowk is river, it will take you around 30 minutes to reach there by foot.
Best Time To Visit

Best time to visit in Suunmaai is during hot summer time. From Chaitra, Baisakh to Jestha will be an appropriate month as well as end of shrawan, Bhadra and Asoj will also be an best month to visit this place. Month Asar and first 2 to 3 weeks of Shrawan faces a heavy rainfall so try to avoid these time, because there will be a heavy chances of floods and landslides.
 
Regarding Hotels And Shops

You will not find any tea shops or hotels in this area. You should have to self prepared while visiting in this place by carrying lays, samosas, cold drinks, Kurkure, etc.

So, it is one of the best natural destination in Jhapa district you cam hang around. Don't forget to carry a bag with some extra clothes because once you reach there you cannot stop yourself from taking a bath in Suunmaai river.

Annapurna Base Camp

Trek Itinerary 

Day 1 Pokhara to Ghandruk: This is a first day of trek. 4 to 5 hour ride from Pokhara will help you to reach the destination known as Ghandruk Village. If the weather is clean then you can enjoy the view of Annapurna range, Fishtail etc. You can enjoy the local lifestyle in this village and early morning sunrise from this village.


Day 2 Ghandruk to Sinuwa: This is a second day of trek. It will take you around 6 to 7 hour to reach Sinuwa from Ghandruk.

Day 3 Sinuwa to Deurali: You can enjoy the early morning scenery from Sinuwa if the weather is clean. After having breakfast in Sinuwa you will start your trek to Deurali. It will take you around 6 to 7 hour to reach Deurali from Sinuwa. Deurali is located in the elevation of 3200 meter.


Day 4 Deurali to Annarpurna Base Camp: Day 4 is quite tough. It is last day of reaching ABC which lies in the elevation of 4130 meter. You will have to trek uphill but the view of mountains will certainly make feel you energetic. Starting trek from Deurali leads you to Machhapuchre Base Camp and after few hour leading to Annapurna Base Camp. Reaching base camp certainly feels you like heaven on earth. 360 degree mountain view is simply unforgettable lifetime experience.

Day 5 Annapurna Base Camp to Deurali: After experiencing the early morning Sunrise view, collecting so many natural beauty, you will now head down  towards Deurali.

Day 6 Deurali to Sinuwa

Day 6 Sinuwa to Ghandruk to Pokhara

Day 6 trek to Everest Base Camp: We heads towards Gorekshep village which is our last destination. It will take you around 2 to 3 hour to reach Gorekshep from Labuche. Day 7 trek to Kala Pathhar and returning back to Pangboche Village: Kala Pathhar is around 2 hour trek from base camp. You can take a closer view of mountains from Kala Pathhar. After that you can descend back to Pangboche Village.

VISIT KICHAKBADH JHAPA, NEPAL

ABOUT THIS PLACE

Kichakbadh is one of the historical and religious place of country Nepal, but due to lack of advertisement this place has fallen into shadows. Lying 10 km far from Bhadrapur Airport it is one of the place in Jhapa district that carries huge tourism potential. Each year Kichak badh Mela is conducted on Falgun Sukla Purnima, thousands of devotees from India as well as from different district of Nepal comes here to attend the Mela. Local Rajbanshi people organize a puja in the old pond of Kichak Badh.

Department of Archaeology always carries out excavation works every year to find out some remains and ancient material related to Mahabharata. During recent excavation, a team of archaeologists had found 8 room floor, old bricks and some artifacts. According to archaeologists, these remains are about 2000 years old, which clearly seems to be old as the date when Mahabharata happened.

According to legends this place was named after the incident where Bhima (one of Pandavas) killed monster named Kichak. Kichak was the commander in chief of Matsya, the kingdom ruled by king Virata. During Pandavs exile in forest they stayed in the palace of king Virata as incognito. During this period Pandavs wife Draupadi who was disguised as a servant in palace was nearly molested by Kichak. So she couldn't tolerate that humiliation and says her husband Bhima to kill him. So, Bhima killed him in Natya ghar where currently Kichak Badh place is located.


LOCATION OF KICHAKBADH

Kichak Badh temple is located in Prithivinagar of Jhapa district. It will take you around 15 to 20 minutes by bus to reach there from Bhadrapur Airport. Kichak Badh is also close to a place called Kachan Kawal ( It is a lowest point of country Nepal). Kichak Badh lies in the bank of Deonia river. This place Kichak Badh enjoys a hot summer and mild winter. Temple in here opens each and every day, so devotees all around the world are always welcome here.


CLIMATIC CONDITION

As we know that Kichak Badh is in Jhapa district, it lies is in Terai region with a low elevation range. Lying in terai region means you an easily find any means of transportation throughout a year. So, this place faces a hot summer with temperature reaching upto 43 degree celcious from May to August and mild winter temperature reaching upto 8 to 10 degree celious. 

In past it was really difficult to reach this temple but with the construction of road reaching in here is easy. Two as well as four wheeler vehicles can easily reach in this destination.

VISIT PATHIVARA TAPLEJUNG, NEPAL

About Pathivara


Pathivara temple is one of the holiest sites in Nepal. A place of faith of most Hindu people. A holy temple situated in top of the hills above clouds, a wonderful view of Kanchenjunga and other Himalayas. Lots of people from India visits here to seek blessing from goddess. This pilgrim sacrifice animals and many devotees offers money, gold, silver to Goddess Pathivara. This temple is in Taplejung, one of a district in eastern Nepal. Those heartbroken shepherds dreamed that goddess ordered them to make sacrifice of sheep and build a shrine in her honor. Reaching The Temple


Reaching the temple is not a easy task. It will take you around 7 to 8 hours, depending upon people fitness and stamina. 

Day 1 Taking off and staying in Suketar: Take off from Kathmandu airport and landing in Suketar airport. It will take you around 40 minutes from Kathmandu airport to reach there. There are lots of tourist categories hotels and lodges in Suketar. So, no need to worry about where to stay.

Day 2: Lunch in Suketar and after that 4 to 5 hour hike to Phedi from Suketar. Hike to phedi will be a wonderful experience, you will be able to enjoy the beautiful environment surrounding, local peoples, Yaks, Horses and birds singing a song. Countryroad and countryside experience will be an extremely delightful. There are lots of tourist categories hotels and lodges in Phedi. Hotels and lodges costing from Rs 100 to Rs 1000 will be found in this place.

Day 3: After staying in Phedi, next morning we will trek for around 2 to 3 hour to reach the final destination temple and taking blessing and returning back. The natural views and scenery throughout the route is absolutely mesmerizing. View of Kanchenjunga mountain and hills covering with Rhododendron flowers will definitely makes you speechless. Also taking blessing from goddess is one of the greatest opportunity of lifetime.

Day 4: Returning back to Suketar from Phedi. You can visit local monasteries and also you can enjoy the local food. 

Day 5: You can also visit nearby district Ilam, a green city of Nepal or directly returning back to Kathmandu from Suketar airport after a wonderful trek. 


Precautions

Trekking to Pathivara means trek to a higher altitude. So people have to follow some major precautions throughout the trek. Devotees should carry warm clothes with them also eating garlic and ginger throughout the trek will also helps you to fight against altitude sickness. Apart from this you can carry hot water, toilet paper, lights etc.
